Just as Doors Open wrapped up on Sunday, two new festivals kicked off Monday - Fashion Week Toronto and Toronto Tech Week.
But here's the kicker - both are privately organized.
Not by the city, not by major corporations - but by the people of Toronto.
When the official Fashion Week left Toronto behind, the city stepped up.
When everyone in tech said our talent needs to leave Toronto, the city stepped up.
And now layer that energy with the upcoming NXNE, Do West Fest, Pride, Luminato, Taste of Little Italy, Toronto Jazz Festival, and FIFA still to come - and you've got one of the most vibrant cities in the world. And that's just the next few weeks.

🎤 Massive concert weekend across the city: Three major venues are all loaded up: Bruno Mars at Rogers Stadium, Martin Garrix at RBC Amphitheatre & The Guess Who at Scotiabank Arena. Expect heavy traffic on Friday and Saturday evenings around Downsview, the waterfront and the downtown core.
🏀 Toronto Tempo are home Saturday: The Tempo host the Seattle Storm at Coca-Cola Coliseum on Saturday, May 30 at 1pm. Exhibition Place will be busier than usual Saturday afternoon.
⚾⚽ No Jays or TFC at home this weekend: Rare quiet weekend on the Rogers Centre / BMO Field front. The Entertainment District will feel meaningfully calmer than the last few weekends - unless you're caught up in the concert exits.
🌤️ Friday: Around 23°C with only a 5% chance of rain - perfect weather. Get outside.
☀️ Saturday: Around 16°C, 0% chance of rain - drier but cooler. Bring a light layer for the evening.
